Jean worked a hand beneath Raymond‟s back, finding the scar from Serrier‟s magic first and tracing it upward until he found the new mark, the one he had left, the one that tied them together for the rest of Raymond‟s life.

That was all it took. Raymond‟s magic exploded out of him in soft showers of rain as his body gave in to his passion, clenching and releasing rhythmically, shaking him through the throes of a climax like none he had ever known. And through it all, he could feel Jean matching him breath for breath, heartbeat for heartbeat.

Collapsing into a sated heap, Raymond tried to summon the words to tell Jean how much he loved him, but he had no energy left for that kind of

concentration. Trusting Jean would feel the depth of his love, he let his eyes close and sleep overcome him.

Jean stroked the damp hair off Raymond‟s face, not even bothered by the unexpected dousing. He had fallen in love with a wizard. If the occasional rain shower in his bedroom was the price he had to pay, he considered it well worth it. He wondered how long it would be before Raymond announced his resignation as president of l‟ANS. As soon as he did, Jean could start planning his presentation as Consort. And not before time. “Sleep,” he murmured, kissing Raymond tenderly. “I‟ll guard your dreams.”
