“How in the hell did
Kahlil get my damn number?”

After sending him straight to voicemail,
Brandie turned the ringer back up, sat the phone back down on the sink and got in the shower. Forty five minutes later, Brandie was sinking her feet into the plush softness of her beige carpet and wrapping her body in her favorite red satin robe. After grabbing her tube of mango scented lotion from the medicine cabinet, she sat on the edge of her king size bed and began moisturizing her damp skin. She tried to focus her thoughts on any and everything that she could think of other than Kahlil, but her mind and body ultimately had other plans. And as if he knew she was thinking of him, her phone rang.

Kahlil please stop calling my phone.” Brandie huffed when she finally answered.

“Brandie where in the hell
are you? Are you okay?”  She could hear his worry.

“I'm fine
Kahlil, I'm at home. A few moments of silence passed, then Kahlil asked, “Seriously Bran, you hate me that much to jump out of my car and jeopardize your life?”

“I don't hate you, I just-

“I’m glad you got home okay.”

“Thank you.”

“We really need to talk, can I come over?”

“I don't think that's a good idea.”

“I need to see that you're okay.”

“Take my word for it, I'm fine.” She smiled at his seemingly genuine concern.

“Brandie you know that I'm not going to take no for an answer. I could easily look up your address and be on your doorstep within the hour.”

“You could, but I'd really hate to have to shoot you for trespassing. Because we both know that you won't just be content on my doorstep.”

“Brandie you would shoot a retired U.S. military General?”

“If he made the de
cision to trespass into my home? In a heartbeat.” She laughed.

And her laughter was contagious as he instantly joined in.

“Wow. I didn't know that your lips could still curl up into a smile, let alone smile wide enough to encourage laughter.”

“Oh shut up. I’ve actually smiled quite a bit today, until I saw you.” Brandie sobered.

“Brandie I'm so sorry for hurting you when I left you. I was just didn't know how to deal with..you know…”

Kahlil let's just leave all that in the past okay?”

Brandie…”

Kahlil I have to go, someone is on my other line.”

“Can't you tell whoever if is that you'll call them back?”

“No, I can't tell him that.”

“Oh,
yo’ so called dude huh?”

“I don’t think that that is any of your concern
, General.”

“I bet he don’t get you as wet as I use
d to.”

Brandie squeezed her thighs tightly together to hide the excitement of her clit jumping at the low timbre of
Kahlil’s voice.

“I guess you over there reminiscing about just how wet you use
d to get for me.”

Brandie
knew Kahlil was wearing nothing but a cocky smile through the phone.

Kahlil, I have to go.”

“Man, tell dude you busy. I haven't talked to you in years.”

“And whose fought is that?”

When Brandie was met with silence on the other end of the line as his response,
she knew that there was nothing else left to say.

“Good night
Kahlil. Sweet dreams.” Brandie said before ending the call.

She really wanted to accept the fact that
Kahlil was trying to make things right, but she just couldn't forgive him for breaking her heart and stopping the beat of their child’s. Instead of returning the call of her steady, James, Brandie crawled in between her cool satin sheets and tried to think of any and everything but General Kahlil Young.

Brandie woke the next morning more frustrated than ever before. Mostly because she tossed and turned all night trying to ignore scandalous images her and Kahlil getting reunited in the best way. She could still hear her own soft moans from her fantasies as she dragged herself out of bed and got ready for work.

Kahlil
sat at his work station on the second floor of his electronic repair shop trying to focus on the broken stereo system in front of him. This system was a 45 minute job that he had stretched to almost four hours. He told himself that he was off to a slow start this morning because he hadn't had a wink of sleep last night, but he knew that sleep had nothing to do with it and
everything
to do with Brandie and whatever dude she was currently dating.

How could another man not want that body when h
e could barely get the images of her soft form subtly stroking his dick out of his head? She’d teased him just enough in the car to have him in the shower a total of three times this morning. He wanted his women back and he hated the fact that some other dude was enjoying the benefits of her sexy smile, sassy personality and centerfold body. And he didn’t even want to think about her reaching her peak in another man’s arms.

He knew he'd have his work cut out for him when he decided to come back for Brandie, but he never would've guessed that she would be so resistant and carrying around so much hate for him in her heart.

Did I really expect for her to still be pining away for me?

Kahlil
never meant to hurt Brandie or leave her the way that he did but when he got word that his cousin had been killed that became his only concern. He didn’t think that he would ever function normally in society again once it finally sunk in that his cousin was gone. He was really like a brother to him and to live with the loss of someone so close, someone he’d made plans to do big things with. To this day whenever it was quiet enough, Kahlil could still hear the shrieks and screams of his aunt’s agony and pain of losing her only child.

“Oh no, God why my son?”
Kahlil auntie Leslie screamed as he nodded to some of his family, walked through the crowded front lawn and into her home.

“Hi ma
. Hi auntie. Hey everybody.”

“Jesus no! He was my only child!” Leslie cried.

“Hey son.
Hand me that box of Kleenex on the top of the television, will you baby?” His mother asked him while rubbing a gentle hand up and down her sister's back.

Kahlil
grabbed the box and took a seat next to his aunt and began to wipe her face.

Kahlil baby you be careful out here I don't want to lose you too. Why Lord?” She screamed again before she leaned across him and sobbed.

He wrapped his arms tight around her and held her until she cried herself to sleep as all of the family quietly looked on. He tried to be strong but as dawn turned to dusk his quiet tears began to fall
nonstop. His mom had long since taken his auntie to her room trying to encourage her to get some rest but it was no use. She screamed until her throat was raw and burning with pain.

As his family slowly cleared out for the night,
Kahlil’s tears of sorrow became tears of anger. He wanted to murder the person who brought him and his family so much pain.

This is only day one after the funeral, how are we
supposed to make it through the night let alone the rest of our lives Lord? Kahlil thought.

“You okay son?”
Kahlil's mother asked him as she watched her son sobbing in the mental and physical darkness that now surrounded them.

“Yeah ma, I'm good.” He said wiping his tears as he stood up.

“Kiss auntie for me will you, I have to go.” He kissed his mother on her cheek.

“Sure baby.
Kahlil?”

“Yeah ma?”

“Come talk to me if you need to okay? I love you.”

“Okay. I love you too.”

Instead of heading home, Kahlil decided to just drive. He drove until dusk turned into a new dawn again and his cousin’s house came into view. Pulling the car in park he sat in the car and cried. By noon he'd decided that he needed to get away from Michigan fast or there was a strong possibility that he would be going to join his cousin in heavens ghetto prematurely like his cousin.  But because he used most of his savings to help his auntie bury his cousin be had no extra money for to get away for a while or possibly relocate. By noon Kahlil had decided that maybe he could kill two birds with one stone, if he couldn't kill his cousin's murderer, he could legally kill people like him. From that point on everything was a blur and he walked into the newly built army recruitment center on third and signed his John Hancock on the dotted line. The last thing he remembered about that day was when the tall black recruiter said, “See you in three weeks son.”

Shaking off the painful memory,
Kahlil now knew how precious life could be and didn’t want to let another minute to by without letting Brandie know the truth. He knew what he was about to do was a long shot but he had to try or lose his woman forever. Pushing aside the radio, Kahlil turned to his computer, opened up his Gmail account and began typing.

                                                        **

Brandie was at her desk reviewing reports for her one o'clock meeting with a new account when her computer dinged to let her know that she had an incoming email. Thinking it was a business matter Brandie absentmindedly opened the email. As soon as she read the subject bar, she knew it was from Kahlil.
How in the hell did this man get my email address
? Instantly Brandie went to click delete but let her curiosity get the best of her and she began to read: A Second Chance

Bran
, baby please give me a second chance. Let me show you that I will never hurt you again. I blamed you for Dwayne's death because I didn't know how to deal with it. I felt like if you hadn't surprised me that day at my house, my cousin would've still been alive. I was supposed to be with him that day, and had convinced myself that you were just as guilty as the guy who pulled the trigger. That's why I couldn't say goodbye to you and left you like I did.

Enlisting in the military was my way of getting justice without killing the actual gunman, every terrorist I had to kill was the man who took
De’Wayne’s life. So I let anger and vengeance fuel my years through the military until the almost daily fights I was getting into beginning to take its toll on me and one day I almost killed my sergeant at the time because he said something I didn't like. I was immediately sent to the shrink for medical evaluation and was bordering a dishonorable discharge.

One day I stopped resisting the help and finally broke down. I told them about Dwayne and you
and how I hadn't slept since the day I left you. There were so many night's that I wanted to call and apologize and explain everything to you but I was too ashamed. You mean everything thing to me and if you give me a second chance, I will spend everyday making it up to you. Will you have me again?

                                                                                                  Love Kahlil

Wiping away her tears, Brandie read the letter for the fifth time and couldn't believe that there had been a time that
Kahlil actually blamed her for his cousin's death. She was more hurt now than the day he walked out on her. She knew this was a genuine apology but it didn't feel like one. As much as she loved this man and dreamt of this very day, she’d stopped seeing a future for them a long time ago. She no longer wanted his love.  Reaching for the keyboard Brandie responded,

No I'm sorry
Kahlil.  I can't. Good bye
. After reading it over for errors, she hit send, gathered her presentation for her meeting and headed toward her office door.

Brandie had just walked back into her office from a very tense meeting and dropped her drained body into her chair and rested her head in her hands when a knock sounded at her door.

“I know I told Carlie that I wasn’t taking any calls or unscheduled meetings. This is exactly why I don't deal with temps.” Anger propelled her forward as pushed herself up from her chair and marched to the door ready to rip whoever was at her door and Carlie a new asshole.

“This better be good or
I’ll—”

“It's always better than good whenever we get together. Hello beautiful.”

“Oh hell Kahlil, I don't have time to deal with you today. And please stop looking at me like that.” Brandie said as she pushed Kahlil toward the door with her hands pressed firmly on his solid pecks. “And how did you get pass my assistant?”

“Seriously Bran, I spill my heart out to you and you tell me goodbye
?” Kahlil asked. He tried to focus on anything but her ass in the hip hugging skirt she had on, but he was failing miserably.

Kahlil, I don't have time for this, please move.” Brandie tried pushing him out of the way but he wouldn't budge.

Kahlil
picked Brandie up to where her back was now planted against the door. “Now you know that you're not about to get rid of me that easily. And as for the answer to how I got past you assistant, I charmed my way right pass her.”

Kahlil.”

“Yes baby?” He said as he ran his index finger along the smooth contours of her perfectly shaped breasts. “Please-what do you want
Kahlil?”

“Oh I think you know exactly what I want. Do you still get ridiculous horny when you’re breasts are being sucked on?”

“I don't know, why don’t you ask my man.”

Smiling he said, “I have a better idea, why don't I just find out for myself.” He said as he pulled her breasts from her bra and began kissing and licking everywhere on her breasts but her nipples.

When Brandie finally gave in and pushed her chest out toward his face and moaned, he happily captured her perky nipples in between his lips.

Ummm…yes. Does he suck your sexy titties like me?” he said when he let her fat pearl slip from his between his lips. Snaking his hands up her skirt, he held her thong to the side and sipped to fingers inside her warm, wet heat.

Kahlil we can't—”

Shhhh baby, calm down and just feel.” He said as he tattooed kissed along her neck.

“Do you miss me
, baby?” Kahlil asked as he pressed his thumb gently against her clit and began to caress the delicate flesh there.

“Yes
…” She moaned softly.

“Do you still love me?” He picked her up and carried her to her desk and laid her down.

“I—”

“Ms. Harris there is a James Landing here to see you.”

-7-

“Hello Ms. Harris, should I send Mr. Landing in to see you now?” Carlie’s voice suddenly boomed over the speaker and ruined her sex crazed high.

Startled, Brandie jumped up and pushed Kahlil backward, almost knocking him to the ground as she sprinted toward the phone and pressed the speaker button. His glorious thickness was just mere inches away from her creamy honey.

“Uh, tell him to give me a few minutes, I’m in the middle of an important conference call.”

“Yes ma'am.”

“Oh my God!
Kahlil you have to get the hell out of here. No wait, shit! What the hell am I saying James is right outside the door, you have to hide!” Brandie said as she began to straighten her gray skirt and matching blouse.

“Baby calm down, maybe you should just tell dude the truth.”
Kahlil said. He took a seat in one of the chairs in front of her desk and began rubbing his expanding cock.

“What the fuck? My man is about to walk through that door.
Kahlil please hide and keep quiet until I can get rid of him.” Brandie begged.

      Slowly,
Kahlil rose from his chair, zipped up his pants and did up the rest of his clothes. He wanted Brandie to know just how truly pissed he was at being tossed aside.

“And what the fuck do I get, if I do this for you Brandie, huh? What do I get for hiding like a fucking coward while another man gets to touch you?”

“Oh my God, Kahlil I don’t have time for this shit. Please lower your voice and hide, please? And while you’re talking all that shit, this is the least you can do for me, after the way you left me!” Brandie was trying to keep her panic stricken voice quiet. She ran to her closet and checked her appearance in the mirror on her closet door.

“Brandie I know I was wrong but asking me to hide for another man is so disrespectful and will never happen again. We clear?”

“I know and I really appreciate you doing this and we’re crystal clear. And I can promise you that because being alone in a room with you will never happen again.”

When she closed the door and turned back around
Kahlil had disappeared in plain sight. Curious as to where he was hiding since he wasn't in the closet and she didn't see him go in the bathroom, she went looking for him when a knock sounded at the door. Glancing around once more to make sure that there was no sign of Kahlil, she walked over to her file cabinet and pretended to look for a file before finally saying,

“Come in.”

“Hey beautiful.”

“Hi handsome.
Now this is definitely a treat. To what do I owe this pleasure of your presence?”

“Well I know that you're always skipping lunch,
so I brought lunch to you. I brought your favorite, General Tao chicken, extra spicy, with sesame seeds and two cabbage eggrolls.”

Awwww, James thank you so much.” As if on cue, her stomach started growling just as she accepted the delicious smelling Chinese food.

“Anytime Brandie, you know I love to see you smile.”

“And I love smiling for you.”

“So how did the dinner go the other night? I tried calling you but figured you turned in early.”

“It was awesome baby. I had such a good time that I was knocked out cold as soon as my head hit the pillow.” Brandie said as she took her seat at the desk. She had just pulled herself up to her to eat when she suddenly felt something scurry down her legs.

“What the hell?” She jumped back, startled until she saw a grinning
Kahlil setting under her desk looking rather comfortable in the small space.

“What’s wrong?” James shot up out his seat and came rushing
around the desk when Brandie stopped him.

“I’m okay, just ripped my stockings on the corner of the bottom drawer and it nicked my ankle.
Damn this was my favorite pair, too.” Brandie said hoping she'd convinced him not to look under her desk because she wasn’t wearing stockings at all.
