Ricky’s face was pressed against the glass, and his hand signal made it clear he wanted us to rejoin the party.
Skylar’s soft laughter brought my own to the surface.
I pulled open the back door and let Skylar lead us in. In two hours we’d count down to the New Year and to the promise of new beginnings for all of us.
